boincmgr disconnected from project and will not reconnect

Binary package hint: boinc-manager

as stated in summary, a few weeks ago boincmgr disconnected itself from the running project. I have been unable to reconnect it. Have tried using Attach project, Attach project manager, Select computer. None work.

Am running Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid, regularly updated:

Your wrong terminology makes your report confusing (boincmgr never connects to project servers).

Did you try opening boincmgr from the K menu (*not* by typing boincmgr on a terminal)?

Yes I did. It didn't help.

I upgraded recently to the development version of jaunty. The problem went away,
