Duplicated info from gnome battstat applet

Bug Description

Breezy installed gnome battstat by default. Dapper installed gnome-power-manager by default. After an upgrade, that leaves the user with 2 icons in the upper right hand corner providing the same info.

Not sure which is better, but I am sure we should only have one :).

Assuming we stick with gnome-power-manager which is likely, we will have the two icons on an upgraded system unless we make the battstat applet detect g-p-m and offer to quit or something.

I think it's unlikely that people would want both present, but not impossible. Ditto perhaps our g-p-m could detect battstat and suggest to the user they remove it (and then sets a gconf key so it doesn't bother the user again) or something?

probably a hook for gconf changes could be added in mvo's upgrade tool ?

The g-p-m appears (to me anyway) to be more powerful. Yet the gnome batstat applet respects the gnome panel and HIG better. It is a separate applet, I can move it to where I wish, and it doesn't abuse the purpose of the notification area.

I think the two should be merged. So that it is an applet yet is as powerful and informative (along with the nice icons) of g-p-m.

I actually rely on having both visible; 'gnome-power-manager' doesn't actually tell me anything other whether the AC is plugged in or not (which I can see by looking at the back of the machine).

The really useful feature of the 'batt-status' is that can be set to give a visual HH:mm estimate of the remaining battery *time*.
