sure,
I simply opened the tool,
select an image (i chose the alternate cd for amd64 ubuntu 8.10)
inserted the usb key, and then pressed the `go' button or whatever it
was called.
it reach perhaps 110% or so by the time it was done.
as an aside, the end product usb stick didn't boot, the computer said
it wasn't a valid boot device, but it might just be the hardware and
not the install.
cheers,

_J

Same thing for me : I just created two USB installation disks, one with Ubuntu 8.10 i386 ISO, the other one with Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 ISO, and both copying processes reached 101% at the end of the process.

Using usb-creator 0.1.10 on Ubuntu 8.10

EDIT : Package version is 0.1.10, but usb-creator --version says 0.1.8.

I can confirm this as well in the Jaunty version (Installed: 0.1.16). It was at 102% when creating the persistence area. Evan, have you taken a peek to see if there are any obvious logical mistakes in calculating the percentage when creating the persistence area?

I can confirm it on Lucid 10.04 (up-to-date). I copied Ubuntu 9.10 ISO to my 8GB USB disc and progress bar showed 932% complete at the end, see attached screenshot.

usb-creator: 0.2.16

$ usb-creator-gtk --version
0.2.8

usb-creator can report negative numbers for progress too.

Saw this w/ usb-creator 0.2.22 (amd64) on Lucid while trying to copy a custom .iso to a 1GB Sandisk USB stick.

Well usb-creator really wants to become a time-machine so that QA team
can test ubuntu releases 6 months in advance ;-)

The more than 100% has been fixed in trunk. I'll recheck the whole
time-estimation logic when i have time.

Mine was placing Maverick-beta on a disk from Jaunty, in case that data is useful.
