Bug Description

I have installed Ubuntu using wubi. while running Windows XP.
The installer chose my F: drive (a USB hard disk) as it had lots of free space. It all seemed to install, but on booting up it stayed in command line mode with grub> and wouldn't do anything.
So I un-installed; and started again but insisted on using drive C:. Everything worked fine, and I'm now using Ubuntu.

It was reported that 208 updates were avilable, so I said go ahead. Some time later, having downloaded a lot of stuff the installation proceeded, but crashed about a quarter of the way through.

However, everything seems to but up OK, except that the error was reported, hence this waffle.
