310083 crash was on an external USB. This bug 311534 is on regular internal hard drive. I wouldn't know if install treats a USB the same as an internal hard drive.

Jerry,

Unfortunately your crash report does not contain enough information to adequately diagnose the root cause of this bug. Would you mind installing again with the most recent daily-live CD using the debug option (`ubiquity -d` in a terminal window) and attaching /var/log/syslog, /var/log/installer/debug, and /var/log/partman to this bug report?

Thanks a bunch!

Evan,

Thanks for looking at this bug. As written, it's resolved.

Manual partitioning edit used to hang install.

Now, manual partitioning isn't even an option since for the past (how many?) daily builds, the partition manager doesn't show anything except the column headers. No partition info at all so no manual edit.

My workaround is to download CD Live, if it works, then download Alternate and do an install, and then a pile of updates of course.

Two downloads chews up twice as much internet time but it works. I do use rsync which is a big help.

Thanks, Jerry
