Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

I think this might be a general GTK problem. Could not browse the BBC content in the navigation video as the YouTube video demonstrates.

Err, it worked for me. Ubuntu 8.10 Totem 2.24.3 probably not the same hardware. It hadn't occured to me to try navigating with the keyboard as the mouse works fine. I wonder if the laptops mousepad works, they usually have one and the YouTube movie carefully avoided using it.

Carefully avoided using it? Er, I was using an external mouse!

Ok now I made two further videos with the help of my girlfriend.

This video shows it kinda working. The workaround is pressing enter on
the keyboard:

The second video shows the bug in full force:

Wow, that was you in the video? Nicely done, i thought it had been produced by some company.

Ok, i'm not on a laptop and also have trouble navigating around with the keyboard but the mouse does work for me. Ahah, it seems that + and - expand the listed items in the tree-view (or shift & arrow-keys) - seems non-standard but there seems to be good reason. Ok, i can navigate with my keyboard now but just have to remember how. Is this way working for you too?

Good luck, have fun and happy christmas :)

I don't think is really about the Tree view shortcuts, a completely
brain dead GTK bug from 2003, but nevermind!

The issue I don't think you guys pick up on, is the way the window
bobs about. When you select something, it selects the bottom or top
selection instead! It's very very odd.
