Bug Description

Binary package hint: ttf-mathematica4.1

Newly upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10, tried to install the said font for the system but installation script failed and installation aborted. Asked to agree abortion due to incompatible scripts.

Please try to clean your cache and reinstall:
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get install --reinstall ttf-mathematica4.1

Thank you for your reply Jean-Baptiste, I would do that once I've time to access to that machine again (as it isn't my main machine).

Alan, I don't think that Jean-Baptiste's steps will work (although it won't hurt to try). The advice given at bug #299427 (which is, by the way, where comments are supposed to go now) helped me.

Toby,

I've read the details in bug #299427 as well so Jean-Baptiste's method
might not work, but realising what sort of fonts Mathematica 4 package
got I'm not sure whether I want it now. Clear it off would be a good
idea.

I've decided to answer you through email as it's a policy on Launchpad
