Thanks for your report.

The cause of the failure is
Setting up flashplugin-nonfree (10.0.12.36ubuntu1) ...
debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by another process: Resource temporarily unavailable
dpkg: error processing flashplugin-nonfree (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2 processes were trying to access the debconf database at the same time. Could you please retry to install flashplugin-nonfree and provide the output of the following command if it's still an issue:
sudo fuser -v /var/cache/debconf/config.dat

Tell us if this helps. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your early reply.
As for a repeated installation, this was not necessary, because after a
later boot up and subsequent request for a download from my newspaper, the
installation program it self continued or repeated its earlier attempt and
now works flawlessly.
So I really have nothing more to report as to say thanks again for your
concern.

One last commend.
I have just loaded Ubuntu 8.10 on a Acer Aspire 1570 with great success.
Only Google Earth will not run, because of screen size.
I thought you might want to know.
Thanks, Frans.
