Hey,

Which packages specifically are you looking for? the dkms packages do not appear to have anything but i386, but I don't think they need to as they build on your current system.

Hi Rickyn thanks for your message.

My very first need is to find the isight-firmware-tools package, and as I didn't see it in Synaptics I tried some other packages (usbhid for instance) and there always no returned by Synatipcs.

The quick search field doesn't seem to update the list of packages immediately after you add a new repository. Can you try searching using the "Search" button in synaptic?

Guys (and girls of course),
I wouldn't have create this bug report without any tests. I added the respository, refreshed the packages list and I always use the search button. I made this several times, and same results, mactel packages are invisible on Hardy x64.

It would be helpful if you would state the you have done testing and the results of those tests when you file a bug report. The more information the better.

Can you see if hal-applesmc shows? I believe that is one of the packages that is not in the standard repos already. It would also be good if you tried other tools besides synaptic (apt-get or aptitude).

For everyone else's information... It appears that the dkms packages are only marked as being for i386. I believe these are all uploads by rydberg. Can you check if they can somehow be marked as being for i386 and amd64?

It appears the issue is Hardy, not X86-64. A quick look at the PPA shows that packages were only built for Intrepid.

There are two types of packages: those marked "any" and those marked "all".
The "any" packages are compiled on every defined architecure, which in
this case means i386, amd64 and lpia. Examples of "any" packages are
hal-applesmc and gnome-power-manager. The "all" packages are valid for
all architectures, and are therefore "compiled" on just one architecture,
which in this case happens to be i386. Examples of "all" packages are
applesmc-dkms and bcm5974-dkms.

One can look for all available packages on this page:

Looks like Chris is right. Why don't you use Intrepid?

I don't use Intrepid because of a blocking wifi issue:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/297965

I just hope this bug will be fixed to be able to use 9.04.

So guys, what should I do to get my isight package for Hardy x64? No solution?

Use Intrepid or go to the PPA page and get the file manually. You can also go directly to the developer's page and get the code:
http://bersace03.free.fr/ift/

We focus support on the latest release of Ubuntu. I am sorry that you find the ath9k driver problem unacceptable. I added some information to your bug report and it should hopefully get some attention soon. Since the problem is fixed upstream you can compile a new kernel in Intrepid if it is that big of an issue.

Hi,

I released and uploaded 1.4 for hardy, intrepid and jaunty. The problem
was not about amd64 but rather hardy. I think that some old packages of
ift may reside in my own ppa. Not sure. I don't even remember whether
ift was release as before hardy !

Regards,
Étienne.

Ok, merci Etienne ;-)

Ricky, I can't use the Intrepid package because there is a dependency issue on libgcrypt11, believe me, I tried.
