IDE controller (CDROM drive) not recognized on Dell PowerEdge 2600/2650

Bug Description

Trying to install Nexenta Core 2.0 Alpha2 to my Dell PowerEdge 2650 with mirrored volume on the on-board PERC Raid 3/Di controller.
The installation goes through without issue, but on reboot, I get SCSI timeout errors (warnings to be precise) forever and never get to a prompt, being or not in safe mode.
I'm not 100% sure that the SCSI timeouts come from the Perc RAID controller, but maybe from the extra Adaptec 39160 in the machine.

Regards

Allright. After some research, I found the following message http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=236308, which is exactly what I'm experiencing.

In my machine, only the integrated CDROM drive uses it.

So, this bug should be retitled to something like "IDE controller (CDROM drive) not recognized on Dell PowerEdge 2650".

I will follow the recommandation in this thread.

Once installed on hard drive, I think the right & permanent solution is
to go edit /platform/i86pc/boot/solaris/bootenv.rc to change the default
for atapi-cd-dma-enabled from 1 to 0.

Hope it helps.
