Bug Description

Binary package hint: conduit

I am trying to perform a simple one way sync of my home folder to a USB drive and it fails every time with the same error. Looking through the log file it looks like it is failing in a lot of different ways - not familiar with the logging but it is giving the impression it doesn't like file names with spaces in and such like.

Not wishing to poke my nose in but Ant has some fantastic solid function for folder syncing that has been tested to death on every Java build around - would it be possible to use this as part of conduit?

Thanks for your bug report.
I can't reproduce it on Jaunty with 0.3.15 version, as it seems to handle properly files with spaces.
Could you please test with the last version to see if you still have the bug ? Thanks.

Hi,

On Jaunty with last version of Conduit (0.3.15), I have the same problem. For example, Tomboy works perfectly with local directory, but when he's attempting to sync with USB stick, then he writes none data. Without any error/warning notifications.

USB stick has vfat filesystem.

I'm having the same issue. I can sync with local folders but not to my USB stick.

My local partition is ext3 and my USB stick is fat32

I get the following error.
[Syncronization ][CRITICAL] UNKNOWN SYNCHRONIZATION ERROR

I have attached a debug trace of my tomboy to folder sync, however I get the error on folder to folder also.

Thank you very much. I have installed the 0.3.16 dev release and it work great to USB.

Here's a link to the Lunchpad PPA with the dev release.
