mouse over(show tooltips) a mp3 file at desktop and it plays that file

I am using Ubuntu 8.10, when ubuntu starting up, I move my mouse pointer to a mp3 file at my desktop and it played at background but the tootip did not display

It is expected behavior that the mp3-file plays in background.
Is there something that does not work when the song is played?
