Bug Description
Binary package hint: qtoctave
When installing qtoctave from the menu, the octave help packages are not installed. The help menu are therefore empty. Nothing in the program gives any hint on why you can't get help, you have to google up why.
Some programs don't need the documentation, so it is not installed by default. For qtoctave they should be included. As this is an IDE, the help files are expected to be used frequently and they are an essential part of the program.
To post a comment you must log in.
qtoctace already recommends octave3.0-htmldoc.
Changing the recommends to a depends doesn't fit the description of depends: "Use this if your program absolutely will not run (or will cause severe breakage) unless a particular package is present."
Furthermore all recommended apt-frontends defaults to installing the recommended package as well AFAIK.
Which package manager did you use to install qtoctave? And which version are you running?
