Bug Description
Binary package hint: wacom-tools
Hardware: Dell Inspiron 6400 with Intuos3 9x12 tablet (USB)
Steps to reproduce:
Set up the wacom driver using XOrg.conf (to enable tablet buttons), as per https:/
xsetwacom set pad Button3 "core key ctrl alt left"
xsetwacom set pad Button7 "core key ctrl alt right"
Press tablet buttons 3 and 7.
Expected behaviour:
Keyboard event for ctrl+alt+left and ctrl+alt+right would be generated, which in turn would switch the virtual desktop. (Confirmed with keybindings).
Actual behaviour:
Depends on the Ubuntu version:
Under 7.10, worked as expected
Under 8.04, these buttons would cause a crash (an unrelated bug that was reported as being to do with the lack of a core keyboard), so I couldn't test if they worked.
Under 8.10:
If a gnome-terminal has focus, the keys generate keyboard D and C. If a Firefox text area has focus, nothing appears to happen. Nothing is logged to syslog, Xorg.0.log or dmesg.

Hi ubuntubugs-rjlee,
Thanks for including the attached files. Could you also include your /var/log/ Xorg.0. log?
