Ubuntu 8.04 or Ubuntu 8.10?

Does it clear most things but not all? or is it totally not clearing anything at all?

You've ticked all the boxes and pressed the green arrow and still nothing gets cleared.

Hmmm, someone suggested a workaround for part of this problem, maybe there is other stuff in there that might be helpful but be careful of the dragons ;) (you'll see what i mean)

In address bar type

    about:config

instead of a urls location, now promise to be careful and find line

    browser.urlbar.maxRichResults

change from the default 12 to 0

... that just deals with the problem of previous websites cropping up when you type an address into the address box as it tries to guess what address you are aiming for. It's not perfect either because if you set the value back up higher than 0 it brings back some of those old addresses - so presumably the llist is helpfully stored somewhere :(
