Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

When I boot my computer while our access point is turned off, then a "Wireless Network Authentication Required" dialog appears. As can be seen in the screenshot, this dialog doesn't give any clue about the network in question.

This is Ubuntu 8.10, network-manager 0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu1.

Hello Georg. Can you still reproduce it? I have tried but there's always a text informing about the network it's going to connect.

Okay, but in order to help you, the developers would need to know more things like what driver does your card use, type of encryption in the network...
Please follow the steps in: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingNetworkManager and post here your results!

The driver of my wireless card is A5RBXB63 and it tries to connect to a WPA encrypted wireless router.
