Bug Description

Resume does not work after suspend either by closing the lid or by executing /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force.

Keyboard, including caps lock key, does not work.

Can't switch to a VT

Following the procedures on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend, leads to:
    [ 1.752464] acpi ACPI0003:00: hash matches

I think this has to do with the battery???

Hi Cesar,

Care to test and confirm if this issue remains with the most recent pre-release of Jaunty 9.04 (currently Alpha4) - http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ . It contains a newer 2.6.28 based kernel. You should be able to test suspend via a LiveCD. Please let us know your results. Thanks.

As requested, I tested Jaunty Alpha4 with no success.

When closing the lid it just turn off the screen, opening the lid turn on
the screen back.

Suspending from the menu: the computer suspends successfully, but it won't
resume, same as original report.

If a click the power button, the laptop makes a beep (some times, could not
reproduce reliably)

Using sleep.sh force without sudo just output some error messages (i can
post it if needed), with sudo the machine
sleeps but it won't wake up.

when trying to wake up the leds stop blinking and i can hear the cd tray
'working' but nothing else happens

As a side comment, the live cd, did not recognize the touch pad (I think is
a synaptic. Should i file a bug?).

But at least, i have not to keep a key pressed to boot!

Hi Cesar,

Can you switch to a virtual terminal (eg. ctrl-alt-F1) and then run pm-suspend rather than the sleep.sh script. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend . When you then attempt to resume do you witness any errors? If so, could you take a photo of them and attach it to this report. I'm also curious if you'd be able to ssh into the machine after you attempt to resume? If so could you also try to capture the dmesg output and attach it here as well? Thanks.

This bug report is being closed because we received no response to the previous inquiry for information. Please reopen if this is still an issue in the current Ubuntu release, Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 - http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download. If the issue remains in Jaunty, please test the latest upstream kernel build - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . To reopen the bug, click on the current status under the Status column and change the status back to "New". Thanks.
