I cannot download anything from my add/remove applications list or anything from online.

Thanks. This is not a g-a-i issue either. Re-assigning to dpkg for now.

Could you please try running "sudo dpkg --configure -a" as suggested in the error message. You are seeing that error because a previous software installation or upgrade was interrupted (possibly by a system crash, power failure etc).

Thank you Chris for the information you provided.  It nice of you to extent the help but there is only one thing though. I do not know how to manually run the program you told me to run. I am very new to this program so I am lost to how to perform the operation. If you could please give me a little tutorial I would really appreciate it. Thanks,  Andre

yea i just reloaded the whole OS again. I really wish I could find out how to install items that to be installed by me fully. If the program does not self install then i am screwed. Just like the Java format required for yahoo games. for some reason I can get it to load on this thing. Do you have any suggestions?
