Bug Description
Network settings are not being saved when session closes and system reboots.
Unable to save settings for eth0.
When I reboot I have no network access and have to setup the network with IPA/Net Mask/Gateway/DNS.
I have replicated this problem over 5 times. NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0 says the driver is sky2.
Being I am relatively new to the Linux family I have no idea what source package this is found in.
I'm using the following system:
Operating System: Ubuntu 8.10-Intrepid Ibex x86_64
Kernel: kernel 2.6.27-7-generic
DM: Gnome 2.24.1
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo 2.6 GHz
RAM: 3 GB
Ethernet: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (rev 12)
Dell XPS M1530

Is it true that you are trying to set up a static IP connection with the Network Manager applet?
