Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

there is a user dir ($HOME/.purple/plugins) where a user can add plugins that only he uses them.
But I've tried placing there several different plugins and none show up on Pidgin Plugin manager!

What version of pidgin did you observe this in? Is it a plugin written in C or Perl? What's your output to "pidgin -d" run from the command line? Could you also please attach a test plugin that didn't work for you so that one of us can try it?

I have the attached Perl script running in version 2.5.1

daniel@discord:~$ pidgin --version
Pidgin 2.5.1

Try running pidgin with -d. The output is useful for debugging, if you
pipe it to a file (pidgin -d > pidgin.log) you can attach it so we can
take a look. If you also attach your plugin I can check it against my
known good environment.
