mkvmerge error with default-duration -- please update package

Binary package hint: mkvtoolnix

mkvmerge is old and has a pretty serious error in it.

As stated on the mailing list, there's a bug in this version that prevents the user from specifying the fps of the video. Among other things, this makes creating MKV's with h264 streams impossible, since the fps must be manually set for everything but 25fps. The poster on the mailing list recommends version 2.4.0: http://lists.matroska.org/pipermail/matroska-users/2008-October/001720.html

Specifically, the bug is that the --default-duration parameter doesn't work at all. Specifying this parameter results in a fatal error.

This is still a problem on intrepid.

If this can't make it into intrepid, please consider it a request to update for Jaunty. This was requested at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mkvtoolnix/+bug/196324, but then closed because it was too late for Hardy. Unfortunately nobody saw fit to remedy that situation in Intrepid.
