Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

when I want to quit, finish using te computer, it restarts again
I try and try, but it does not stop, it restart, it reboots, asks my pasword etc.

Once I must have made a mistake trying to get a new letter type, so I got Roxen.
I tried to remove Roxen3, but I do not manage to remove it. Roxen freaks the sound card, it crashed, so I want to remove Roxen.

I started my computer with the original DVD Ubuntu unleashed hoping to re open my sound card, but it did not work. Now my computer does not stop when I want to quit. Ir restarts.

Regarding inability to uninstall roxen3, did you try running "sudo apt-get remove roxen3" in the terminal?

For the quit/restart thing...if you type "sudo shutdown -h now" in a terminal, what happens?

Dear Mackenzie,

Thank you for your mail.

Yesterday I put the computer into 'hybernate' and that worked. It made a lot of noise and it closed. Today it started en closed normally, as if nothing had happened.

About the sudo command:
In 'system' I could not find any place to put a command in, so I went to 'GRUB', hoping that would be the place to put a command.
I do not know anything about computers, but I know that when I press Esc during the starting up of the computer I get there. So i typed

sudo apt-get remove roxen3

and the computer answered error 27 unrecognized command.

How do I get to a place where the computer accepts the command? In GRUB there is a list of possible commands, but not remove or format etc.

As I have the computer update itself, it updates Roxen as well, there is no option of removing or deleting there, and when the updates should be complete and installed etc the computer notifies me there is an error 10, and that the installation in not completed. Maybe that 'error 10' is a clue of what is happening?

Again, thank you for your support.

Sincerely yours,

Debby.

Commands go in the terminal, which is found in Applications ->
Accessories -> Terminal.

You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release?
