Package:
exo-utils 0.3.4-7ubuntu6

Uname
Linux 2.6.27-7-generic i686

WORKAROUND:
create the desired shortcut on desktop by using Thunar file manager, navigate to the path of the file (for example: /usr/bin/VBox )
-> Right-Click on executable -> Send To -> Desktop (Create Link)
This creates a shortcut to VirtualBox on the Desktop.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
* I attempted to reproduce this using an installed version of Xubuntu AMD64 from 2008-10-25. If I am correct, starter translates to the english launcher. I was able to create and use the starter on my desktop.

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

Than klick "Starter erstellen...".
Than give anyting in the "Name: ____" box.

The error occurs only in the German language environment.

In the english language environment it works correctly.

Sorry I moved to Ubuntu SE.

Can I provide a backtrace with the desktop(live)-CD?

I want to test it with the Xubuntu livecd, but I cant because the system crashes:

PS: The following does not concern the error, but I must explain it somehow.:

The Xubuntu AMD64-liveCD boots with I/O errors on sd0. And when the X System is starting I see only a white screen, than the PC crashes with a very fast reboot (without shutting down the system, so similarly as with a power failure.). I tested other systems like knoppix and they works fine.
