Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

Icons for filetypes cannot be changed.

Tried this in Systemsettings-->Advanced-->File Associations.

Icons for existing file types cannot be changed (in KDE3 we have that option by for clicking the icons).
This also happens when a new file type is added in File Associations, the option to assign a specific icons is not available, so that every new file type always get the unrecognized icon (question mark icon).

Kubuntu Intrepid Beta
KDE 4.1.2

Hmmm...no progress.
As for your information, the problem is there in final intrepid. I updated to KDE 4.1.3 and the problem persists..

You can edit application icons with kmenuedit I think.
I found a report about the filetype icon issue upstream, however.

Yes it's the filetype icons that cannot be changed, not the
application icons. I read the upstream bugs and it's similar to the
issue that I meant.
