Bug Description

This is probably going to require a lot of looking, but is pretty important IMO.

It is not a misconfiguration of the content type. This is an actual bug. It migh be as simple as the original theme creator forgetting to include a print content.

Does anyone want comments?
Do we want people to be able to comment nodes?

About 10 minutes of research and testing brought nothing.

This is very weird... If I had to guess, it must have something to do with this custom theme we are using.

I thought that comments where just allowed in content marked as
"forum" pages. Or maybe you have to be signed in as another user.

try to create a new user and test the feature again.

It's not working, that's for sure!

In drupal, you can comment any node, if the permissions allow. Weirdly, the permissions currently allow commenting on a material. I thought it would be good to have feedback.

It's not even displaying the submit comment form...
This is weird one.

We should test in a test node we create. We should create different content types and test the comments on them. See if it is a general bug or just a materail content type related one.

should be triaged and, if possible, fixed by the time RC comes.

I very strongly believe I have fixed this. The link to add comments was not printed before because the guy who made the custom ubuntu07 theme assumed everyone would have blog enabled. we don't need, nor do we want to have blog (do we?)

either way, it is totally irrelevant to this, and the if condition he was using didn't even make sense to me.

Actually the inability to add comments was just a symptom of the entire "links" node footer not being printed

It is fixed. And now comments should be accesible. Closing
