Bug Description

Binary package hint: meld

New upstream version (1.2) was released on 2008-06-26, please update deb packages.

Main changes in new version (pasted from http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/meld/tags/release-1_2/changelog?view=markup ):

 * Improve tab rendering (Kai Willadsen)
 * Speedup folder comparison massively for large directories.
 * Fix crasher i18n bug (Kai Willadsen)
 * UI tweaks and cleanups (Tom Baugis, Kai Willadsen)
 * Cleanup vc library redundancy (Vincent Legoll)
 * Various version control fixes.

It seems this version will fix some bugs, already reported in Debian and Ubuntu.

Hi,

Could you please take a pass over the Ubuntu bug list to see which
are fixed by the new upstream version. If there are some that you don't
know about then requesting testing of the new version would be appreciated.

I am working on sponsoring your package now.

Thanks,

James

Hi,

When changing the standards version please state whether any changes
were required to use the new version. Also, when a package comes from
Debian updating the standards version in Ubuntu isn't usually worthwhile.

The Makefile patch you added doesn't have a bug reference, has it been
reported to GNOME bugzilla? If not please do so.

Otherwise it looks good, so I am uploading it. I trust you to forward the
patch if necessary.

Thanks,

James

Thank you for pointing that out.

My fault, forgot to search upstream bug tracker to see if the bug was
reported there and I can see now that it is already fixed upstream:

I have also looked through the bug list and requested testing of the new
package as you requested.
