Bug Description
Binary package hint: python-opengl
There is a bug in PyOpenGL that causes a glRenderMode() call to fail on some systems. This bug appears to be fixed in python-opengl 3.0.0b4 as the following suggested change was made:
http://
We are seeing a symptom of this in GNOME games where some systems crash when clicking on the 3D chess view:
http://
We have modified Chess in 2.24.1 to catch this error and ignore the user press to stop user data loss and bug reports being sent to GNOME. The result is users with this problem will not be able to move pieces in the 3D view.
If Intrepid ships with the current version of python-opengl I would expect a large number of users to be unable to access the 3D mode of Chess in Ubuntu. I strongly recommend that you consider fixing this bug before release.
