Bug Description

Binary package hint: anjuta

The package anjuta (version 2:2.24.0.1-2ubuntu1) available in the ubuntu repository was compiled without these plugins : scintilla editor, glade, subversion, valgrind, devhelp, class inheritance, and profiler. So I got the last revision (corresponding to 2.25.0) of anjuta from http://svn.gnome.org/svn/anjuta/trunk, and I compiled it myself. Now it works fine for me, but would it possible to package anjuta with support for these plugins?

For 2:2.24.1-0ubuntu1 we got "Valgrind Plugin", "Api Help (Devhelp)" and "Class Inheritance" back.

But the most important of them all - Scintilla - is still missing :(

I'm a bit curious, why was these plugins removed?

Even more importantly, the Subversion plugin is missing.

The fixed Anjuta packages from this PPA work for me:

By the way, I don't think importance "wishlist" is appropriate. This is clearly a packaging bug and a regression, too.

Very sad there is no more svn plugin in anjuta. My opinion: packaging bug.

With the Scintilla went auto completion. Definite not a wishlist thing...

Besides the lack of plugins as reported above now even more plugins (such as profiler) are missing in the Karmic release. Please correct this or I have to use switch to another IDE on the long run. Anjuta is really a nice IDE but without all the plugins it becomes more and more impossible to efficiently work with it.

I think it depends on missing dependences for the subversion package Its easy to reproduce:

I have downloaded the source from the gnome homepage, unpacked it. Then run 'sudo apt-get build-dep anjuta' to get the build dependencies. Then run ./configure. You will see something like this.

#
-------------------------------------------------------------------
#
Conditionally built plugins:
#
-------------------------------------------------------------------
#
Building subversion plugin: ............................NO
#
        Requires apr (>= 0.9.4); http://subversion.org
#
        Requires apr-util (>= 0.9.4); http://subversion.org
#
        Requires neon (>= 0.28.2); http://subversion.org
#
        Requires subversion (>= 1.5); http://subversion.org
#
Building glade plugin: .................................YES
#
Building devhelp plugin: ...............................YES
#
Building GtkSourceView based editor: ...................YES

----------------------------------------------------------------

I'm will do some research to find out the correct packages. I already get the package building with svn support.

The neon stuff is missing, will upload a fixed version to my ppa.
I need to add libneon27-gnutls-dev, libsasl2-dev to build dependencie. I've also added subversion as suggestion.

I now build a debdiff for the version in lucid, and tested it in my vm. For me its working. This patch covers only the subversion problem. The other features are in the upstream anjuta-extras package, I will take a look at this, when this is done.
