Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
The web pages are not opening up in Firefox when opened with "http" prefix e.g. "http://
By "the web pages are not opening up" I mean that Firefox tries to check the URL but ends up showing a White Page without any error message after a 5-7 seconds.
Actually my problem is that I am very new to Ubuntu and I have just recently installed Ubuntu 8.04 in my Compaq Notebook. I am able to guess that some firewall is causing this issue. But not very of this. Can you please help me in sorting this issue. I am able to access internet for the pages which have "https" as prefix like this page's URL is having "https:/
Its a serious thing cause net is a must to learn more n more things of Ubuntu.
Immediate help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Param.

the very same thing happens with me, it affects firefox as well as opera, however, dillo works just fine. so i guess it has to do more with ubuntu than the web browser.
let me know if you get something.
