nice command doesn't appear to work properly with tcsh

m7674n:~> echo $SHELL
/usr/bin/tcsh
m7674n:~> tcsh --version
tcsh 6.14.00 (Astron) 2005-03-25 (i486-intel-linux) options wide,nls,
m7674n:~> nice -n 10 nice
nice: Badly formed number.
I came across this when trying to lower the priority when using p7zip. I like using tcsh though it appears that nice doesn't like the shell. Works fine in sh. Not sure if I should be bothering the Astron folks or Unbuntu... Thanks!
