Italian Language add-on is not compatible with version 3.0.3

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

After the last update of the language-packs the English and Italian language add ons in Firefox are no more compatible (see image attached). So now I have Firefox in English instead Italian.

Ooops I have forgotten to say that I use Ubuntu Hardy 32bit with Italian interface and Firefox 3.0.3.

I have the same problem with the French version for Firefox 3.0.3

Running Ubuntu 8.04, firefox 3.0.3+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1, language-pack-fr 1:8.04+20080929.

Hi scrondo,

I believe that don't exist a really "Choose language" option in Firefox, but you can activate or deactivate (enable or disable) the language of your choice in the Add-ons window / Languages tab with the specific buttons.

Doesnt exist "italian-it" on the add-ons window/languages.
Exist only "Italiano-Svizzera" (Italian- Switzerland) but it is not the same
language.

Hi Salvador,

I don't understand what do you mean with "italian-it" or "italiano-Svizzera" regarding Firefox options. If you watch at the image that I have attached to this bug, you can see that a "generic" "Firefox(it)" is present. No distinction between Italian variations (Italy, Switzerland, and so on).

I'm sorry Salvador, but I don't see any difference between my image and your one.
Both report Firefox(en-GB) and Firefox(it). I still don't see "italian-it" or "Italiano-Svizzera".
Can you better explain what do you mean?
In any case, before the last update, Firefox was functioning well in Italian and all other languages, so I think the problem is not on a specific locale, but in the language module itself.

I am sorry, i sent you the wrong image.
Here is the exact image.
As you can see, the Italian language is not supported by Firefox 3.03
I am degree with you when you say that before the last upgrade, Firefox was
running well.
Now i have the toolbar menu in English.
For me is not a problem, but my daughter (14°teen years) has some problems
to translate and understand thi language.

Downgrading language-pack-fr to version number 1:8.04+20080909 solve the problem.

So this issue comes from the language-pack-** package version 1:8.04+20080929

@ scondo : You're welcome. To downgrade, select the package in synaptic, hit Ctrl+E and select the previous version.
