[Intrepid] NetworkManager says eth0 device unmanaged

Bug Description
Kubuntu Intrepid beta failed to connect my dell m1330 to my LAN. Upgrading a working Xubuntu Hardy installation works, but then NetworkManager tells me eth0 is unmanaged. Also is it me, or the GUI front-end has less options than before?
