Could you try to have a look in /var/log/syslog and /var/log/daemon.log to see why slapd fails to start?

I already solved the problem. I completely removed the slapd package, then I searched for slapd on the data system and removed every slapd file, (there were config data at least, which had to be removed).

Now I could reinstall and everything works!

Thanks anyway for your support. Maype at the slapd package remove, it could remove all slapd files!

Did you use the --purge option when uninstalling it? Otherwise leaving
the conf files is a feature, not a bug.

If you want to remove configuration data you should purge the package instead
of just removing it.
