Bug Description
Binary package hint: python3.0
Release candidate 1 has been released on 17-Sep-2008. I think it would help a lot of people when it gets included into Intrepid. When using the language wich is not yet final, it's handy to test with the latest version.

* Update to 20081027 from the py3k branch. LP: #279227. local/lib/ python3. 0/dist- packages. This is the default for python3. 0/dist- packages. python3. 0/site- packages in the file system and layout= deb, which dist-packages instead of $prefix/ site-packages.
* Fix typos and section names in doc-base files. LP: #273344.
* Build a new package libpython3.0.
* For locally installed packages, create a directory
/usr/
installations done with distutils and setuptools. Third party stuff
packaged within the distribution goes to /usr/lib/
There is no /usr/lib/
on sys.path. No package within the distribution must not install
anything in this location.
* distutils: Add an option --install-
- installs into $prefix/
- doesn't encode the python version into the egg name.
