Bug Description

When trying to install opensync-plugin-kdepim in Ubuntu, I'm getting the following message:

Comes from Bug #271016.

The bug #271016 marked as "Fix Released" with totally removing KDE support in taskjuggler. But this is not a workaround for opensync-plugin-kdepim package. Any other methods to solve this issue?

I've been playing with last version of opensync-plugin-kdepim (0.36 in Debian experimental and 0.37 in svn), but it still fails to build in Intrepid.
The only option is porting this plugin to KDE4 (last svn version still depends on qt3 and KDEPIM3)

I have found a kde4-kitchensync package for opensync at this url:
http://www.nabble.com/kde4-kitchensync-for-current-opensync-packaged-td19278317.html
It can't help us to build a opensync-plugin-kdepim package?

Can anyone provide a .deb file for opensync-plugin-kdepim? Or is anybody working on it?

Hi,

This package is not compatible with KDE4, so the only option is to port it or patch it (maybe another distro has a patch).

For the moment, nobody is working on it.

If you are interested, you can maybe do it.

I'd like to do it myself, but I don't understand about things like port, patch or library.
I tried to compile libopensync-plugin-kdepim-0.22.tar.bz2 but it complains about missing libraries.
Thank you

Hi,

This is the point: the library on which this plugin rely doesn't exists anymore in Intrepid. That's why it's not possible to have it automatically, and needs adaptation.

I tried to install libkcal2b with dpkg and it says libkdepim1a and libktnef1 are missing (both not components of Ubuntu 8.10)

I hope someone can fix this problem in any way.

I've posted a bug report/request on OpenSync and KDE.
It seems KDE should solve this...

I added a commment to the kde ticket. This is a kde specific issue. This is because of the new version of opensync (the 0.22 is out of support). When new plugins are available (like an akonadi one) for 0.40, kde (and kubuntu) can add the new kitchensync to the repository.

Hi,

This is fixed in Karmic, with version 0.22-4.

In https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=188559 they wrote:

There is now another project based on libsyncml, like opensync is. Sascha
(http://saschpe.wordpress.com/) is working on it for a GSoC project. Though it
won't be finished during the project, it has the perspective a lot is done (the
project ends in September).

Maybe use Sascha's tool in kubuntu will be better in future?

In Karmic I have been succesfully installed package opensync-plugin-kdepim and opensync-plugin-syncml, but where can I find and configure this plugins?
