Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

On login, NetworkManager segfaulted (and nm-applet disappeared). It's worked fine on previous logins. Apologies for the lack of info, but this crash had no discernable cause.

I encountered the same crash while receiving email thanks to evolution. Apport redirected me here. If informations are required, feel free to ask.

Apparently this happened to me, also, and I didn't even notice.
Had all kinds of problems with Alphas 3,4 and 6, but most seem to haver gone with the Beta.
Well done developers say I: ity is simple to just click the "work online" button in Evolution, compared to the hassles in the Alphas.

Immediately after login, wired network failed to connect. I manually select "Auth eth0", network manager got the DHCP connection after a few seconds. But Apport launched, complaining about the error in this bug.

Folks, has anyone seen this with the release version of Intrepid?

If not, we can likely close this as "fix released" in the belief that it was addressed toward the end of the release cycle.

I have not experienced this with the final release.

I was experiencing this in the beta, it hasn't occurred since release of Intrepid. Marking Fix Released, seems to have been confirmed by several commenters.

Since this occured I changed network hardware and it has not occured since.
I realize that this makes my information somewhat less relevant.
