Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-l10n-ca

After installing Kubuntu Intrepid with language set to Catalan, most of the applications strings are not translated. It looks like they have not been imported to Launchpad Translations from the KDE project. The translations now packaged are the ones for KDE 3. Therefore, all new strings (that is, almost all strings) are not translated.

According to the Ubuntu Translators mailing list, there has been some kind of problem importing the KDE translations to Launchpad Translations and all of them have to be approved manually: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-translators/2008-September/001677.html

I think it is of high priority to have all localizations available on Intrepid, users should be able to use their applications in their language.

I have assigned this to kde-l10n-ca because I have confirmed it with this language. But it affects all languages, as you can see for a common application like Konsole: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/kdebase/+pots/konsole
