Problem with Dynamic Offset

I'm using Inkscape 19921-0809241546, when doing a Dynamic Offset the mat/shape has holes in it that I don't think should be there. I have attached a screen shot.

    Could you attach the original .svg file? Am not familiar with Dynamic Offset, can't tell which is related to offset and which is not.

I didn't keep the original, but have just done another one with the same problem. I dragged the mat made with Dynamic Offset away from the word 'boy'.

confirmed on Windows XP Inkscape19933.
The attached file was originally the word DOG written in CommercialScript.
In my case it seemed to require a combination of "Outset" and then "Dynamic Offset", before the unwanted spikes started to appear.

Still present with Inkscape trunk revision 12010 on Windows XP.

Still present with Inkscape 0.91+devel r14159 (on OS X 10.7.5).
