In future, please report OpenGEU problems to OpenGEU rather than to us. I have no idea what version of anything they're running or what they might have changed.

Could you please attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this bug, following the directions in http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs? Thanks in advance.

Yes, please report these kind of errors to our launchpad page, since we now have one ;)

Yeah, sorry about that. I just copy and pasted what it told me to at the
link it instructed.

We ought to just delete this entry at your site because I'm completely new
to Linux and I probably just did something wrong on the install. I'm going
to keep working at it.

Also, I don't have any of the files because I was running the installation
program from a CD.

Hallo, no problem at all, don't worry :)
When you downloaded the installation disc, where did you download it from?
If you have any weird installation problem (even if you are new, the
installation program needs no particular human knowledge, it has been
created to just work) it could possiblt be because you are trying to install
in a not writable disc or because the installation disc is damaged!
If you can, please check the md5sum against the one I provide on the OpenGEU
website (from a linux console, just type md5sum filename.iso where filename
is the name of the file and its path). If you've never done it before, don't
have a Linux box to check it or anything, please also consider trying to
download the iso again.

Well, let me know :)
bye,

Luca

I understand that you were running the installation program from the CD (pretty much everyone using Ubiquity does that). Immediately after it fails, before you give up and reboot, the files I asked for will be present. You can then start up a web browser from the running desktop CD and attach those files to this bug.
