Bug Description
When I load up the live CD, enable all standard repositories run:
sudo apt-get install dmraid
sudo modprobe dm-mod
sudo dmraid -ay
sudo dmraid -r
I can then mount my drives using something like:
sudo mkdir /media/Windows
sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/mapper/
just as I could with the Hardy installation. In Hardy gparted could see these RAID 0 partitions but in Intrepid the partition editor doesn't even start if using the installation utility and if I fire up gparted directly, it just shows /dev/sda, /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc.
I've updated to the latest libparted1.8.9 also to no avail. I've attached partman logging from /var/log/syslog that seems to continually cycle since the first attempt to install. At the end of dmesg I see:
[ 242.672009] device-mapper: uevent: version 1.0.3
[ 242.673782] device-mapper: ioctl: 4.14.0-ioctl (2008-04-23) initialised: <email address hidden>
[ 324.397426] JFS: nTxBlock = 8006, nTxLock = 64052
[ 324.710688] SGI XFS with ACLs, security attributes, realtime, large block/inode numbers, no debug enabled
[ 324.715008] SGI XFS Quota Management subsystem
[ 324.901007] program parted_devices is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO
[ 1701.842819] program parted_devices is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO
I.e. I can't install Intrepid on my computer cause I use RAID 0, whereas I could install Gutsy and Hardy.
