Bug Description
After netinstalling the ubuntu i386 alternate image from 20080917 on a Dell Dimension 9200, the system stalls when attempting to reboot with the following message:
sd 1:0:0:0: [sde] Synchronizing SCSI cache
e1000e 0000:00:19.0: PCI INT A disabled
Restarting system.

I observed a similar problem on a Dell Optiplex 330. The error message is almost the same except for the e1000 line:
sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Synchronizing SCSI cache
Restarting system.
machine restart
