Hi, thanks for filing this bug. Could you please provide some more detail?
Under normal circumstances, firefox will disable (grey out) buttons which cannot be used due to the current state. For example if there is no history (you just opened firefox) then the 'back' and 'forward' buttons will be disabled. In addition the 'undo' and 'redo' options will only be available if you have typed something in a text field.
