How about a PPA with a package? I downloaded 1.0.6 and couldn't get it working at all. I'm stuck here b/c my phone wasn't supported until 1.0.3, which is newer than the version in apt :-(

I see that 1.0.5 is in Intrepid. I should have looked at that first. Anyway, I guess I'll be upgrading soon :-)

Feature freeze is in 3 days, and this has been around since Intrepid was still in Alpha.. any way we can get this in now?

According to http://bitpim.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/bitpim/releases/, it looks like 1.0.6 is the latest release of bitpim. This version is also currently present in Debian Experimental. As a result, there is no need to do a normal upgrade. I will prepare a merge for this package.
