Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I was trying to download on a very important video conference on a financial program,it keeps cutting off the download right at the end part just before completing the procedure,result nothing recorded,very disappointed.

Could you provide some more detail about what you were trying to download?
Do other things you download work? Perhaps it was the remote server which was not working correctly?

Also, it seems you are running 7.04 which has an older version of firefox - if you upgrade to 7.10 and then 8.04 you will get firefox3 which fixes many bugs from firefox2.

Hi Jamie,I've tried to download Skype onto Linux since two days now,I've got
skype downloaded but my computer in which Im using the Ubuntu/linux program
refuse to open skype for some reasons,its is so stressing,because I need to
communicate for buisness in France asap.It was also turning the Firefox
internet off,and I have to reopen and restart again,stays open for 10mins
then off.Other things downloaded does work except skype.Im interested in the
7.10 then 8.04 to get FF3,it is important for me,please give me the
directions,Im not a technician but I'll do it.
It is a little better this morning but still cannot open the downloaded
skype program.

You can upgrade from your 7.04 to 7.10 by following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GutsyUpgrades

After you have done that, you can upgrade 7.10 to 8.04 by following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardyUpgrades

The Skype you should download is http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-linux-ubuntu
Save this file, it should go to your desktop.

When it is there, double click on it and you should be able to install it.
