Quelques précisions seraient utiles.
Comment tomcat6 "bug" t'il ?
Dans quel ordre avez-vous installé les packages ? Quand est-ce que ça marchait ?
Est-ce qu'une purge (apt-get purge tomcat6 tomcat6-admin) permet de repartir ?

A few precisions would be useful.
How does tomcat6 "bug" ?
In which order did you install the packages ? When did it work ?
Is a complete removal (apt-get purge tomcat6-admin tomcat6) successful ?

I encountered this same error, I believe. I selected to install a large number of packages, including sun java 6 and tomcat. Tomcat install failed when it tried to run the post install script to start the service.

I seem to have lost the upgrade log since I clicked that this was the same bug as already reported, but the behavior was the same as this bug.

I'm french so sorry for my english .
for this problem i completely remove tomcat6 and reinstall :
sudo apt-get purge tomcat6*
sudo apt-get install tomcat6*

and since all is good (seems good )

ghtdbn: were you using Sun's Java 6 too ?

When a I had this problem , i first install java 6 and tomcat 6 and all run
.
but later when i instaled tomcat6 , the bug came.

Now all is good

Kevin: your bug sounds different since it does not involve post-installing tomcat6-admin. Could you please file a separate bug : I can reproduce it by trying to run "apt-get install sun-java6-jre tomcat6" on a new install.
