kde 4.1, trash applet not working.

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

Clicking on the Trashapplet, /usr/lib/kde4/plasma_applet_trash.so, gives:

Malformed URL trash:/

Not possible to configure it in any way.

If one right clicks on applet and try to empty trash, it doesn't actually empty the trash as intended.

trash:/ works in Dolphin/Konq.

I might also add that this machine was upgraded from hardy->intrepid. on hardy -kde4 packages was installed.

Problem is a faulty kde-dolphin.desktop in .local. This is probably an upgrade issue. My system was running hardy with kde4 from ppa. The error was found in .xsession-errors and looked like this:

rm -rf .local solved the issue, but as stated before might be a problem when upgrading from hardy->intreped.
