Bug Description

source package: wesnoth

According to the upstream Wesnoth project, "This is a bugfix release for the stable 1.4.x branch. In this release several smaller bugs were fixed and many translations were updated."

The release will allow players to use the official Wesnoth multiplayer servers, which depend on the latest release.

This is being submitted as a backport request (rather than a bug for hardy-updates) since Wesnoth 1:1.4.3-1 is already included in hardy-backports, as opposed to Wesnoth 1:1.4-1 in the Ubuntu 8.04 release.

I should note that this backport will result in the building of a new binary package, wesnoth-dbg, so this backport request should be marked as Invalid if this is unacceptable.

I'm marking this one a valid backport candidate. Compiles, installs, and runs, version 1:1.4.4-2.

Changed in hardy-backports:

status: New → Triaged

As a note to the backport request submitter, an addition binary package isn't a problem when doing a backport, just note that wesnoth-dbg will get stuck in the NEW queue once the backport is processed by the archive admins, but it should cleared relatively soon after the backport is accepted.

Thanks for testing the backport candidate and letting me know about how the additional binary package would be handled.

Is there a corresponding -data package that needs to be backported, or is wesnoth the only one?
