Bug Description

Binary package hint: trac

I saw that the last version of Trac (0.11-2) was packaged for the intrepid release,
but i would like to know if it was possible to package it also for hardy-heron since this is a
"Long Term Support" version.
I'm ready to do it, i just need to know how.
Thanks

Ssaboum.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Needs-packaging is only for new upstream releases which are not in the current development release (intrepid) and for packages which are not in Ubuntu. If you want a newer version in a stable release (e.g. hardy) and it is not a bugfix release only, then you can request a backport. For details have a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports.

If you want to have trac 0.11-2 backported to hardy, then please update the description of the bug to reflect the correct work flow for backports. If you do not want to have it backported any more, then please set the status of this bug to invalid.

If you have more questions about the work flow, then you are welcome to join #ubuntu-motu at irc.freenode.net.

The description looks pretty good, and the package is in Intrepid. I think this would be a great thing to backport - 0.11 has a lot more features than 0.10. I had to install 0.11 using easy_install because it wasn't packaged... and I'd rather avoid that. Do you need more information in this backport request?

hardy-backports task is opened and valid. The Ubuntu task is not valid, backports are managed in a separate project, not in Ubuntu. For more details, you can check the wiki page Benjamin gave.
