Bug Description

grub-efi_1.96+20080512-1ubuntu2_i386

on my macbook (see below):

 grub.efi from the ubuntu grub-efi package :

 grub-efi_1.96+20080512-1ubuntu2_i386.deb

  is broken.

grub.efi made with all modules and installed manually fails
to load ubuntu kernels

 vmlinuz-2.6.26-5-generic
 vmlinuz-2.6.26-5-generic
 vmlinuz-2.6.25-1-386
 and others.

and has bugs in its command line.

It does manage to chainload macosx. boot.efi

I use grub.efi made by grub-mkimage compiled from the grub2 gnu source, it works.

If a selfcompiled version worked for you then I think the karmic version should still work.
It's much more recent then your bug report.
Could you please confirm?

Ubuntu karmic has < grub-efi_1.96+20090523-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb >, which is up
to SVN grub2 rev 2233 - with the recent Apple Intel revs from Bean and
phcoder, which I have been using, so should be ok, but I will try it and
report in relation to this bug, which I had forgotten. The main outstanding
issue is the inability to run 3d acecelerated nvida and ati graphics on
Apple Intel, but that is another story.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
