Bug Description
Binary package hint: libecryptfs0
On my Asus EEE901, I have set up an encrypted private directory as per instructions on one of the developers blogs. It works perfectly, except that it seems to randomly unmount - it seems to be triggered by shutting the lid, but not always.
This is Ubuntu Intrepid, all updates current, KDE desktop. All there is within my Private folder is .ssh/, .gnupg/, .opera/, and Documents/ all symlinked to the same name in my home folder.
It's possible that this is by design that it unmounts when you leave your laptop, but if so this is redundant as it can be remounted immediately by using the mount.ecryptfs_

Hi Daniel-
If the behavior is truly random, I would be surprised, and I would say that there is a highly critical bug.
It would really help if you could perhaps help identify the pattern...
Currently, umount. ecryptfs_ private is called any time a PAM session end event occurs.
This could be:
* logging out of an ssh session
* logging out of a graphical desktop session
* logging out of a a console session
This is, however configurable. Simply remove the file ~/.ecryptfs/ auto-umount. Try removing that file and see if this is an acceptable solution to your problem.
Perhaps you have some semi-regular event that is logging in/out of your system? A remote cronjob ssh'ing in, perhaps?
